Become a member of OARC

Joining the Ontario Association of Residents’ Councils (OARC) as a member connects your Residents’ Council with a province-wide network dedicated to empowering residents and amplifying their voices beyond the four walls of your home.

Member feedback directly shapes OARC’s operations and informs the conversations we engage in with government and sector partners, ensuring that residents remain at the centre of planning, decision-making, and quality improvement in every home.

Investing in OARC through annual membership signals your Council’s support for the important work that we do. Please consider becoming a member!

Being part of OARC allows our group to stay connected with other long-term-care homes, and stay abreast of issues that have an impact on our quality of life…it’s empowering”

Membership options

Whether membership is purchased directly by a Residents’ Council or through a Corporate Membership, residents receive the same access to OARC programs, resources, education, networking opportunities, and support.

Individual Residents’ Councils can join OARC directly. Membership is typically paid for by the Residents’ Council or with support from the long-term care home.

Organizations that own or manage long-term care homes can purchase OARC memberships on behalf of the Residents’ Councils in their family of homes. This investment reflects an organizational commitment to empowering resident voices and supporting strong, active Residents’ Councils in every home.

Annual membership fees

OARC’s annual membership cycle starts on April 1 and ends on March 31.

  • 1–99 beds: $75.00
  • 100–199 beds: $150.00
  • 200+ beds: $225.00
